Aryna Sabalenka celebrating a point
The Belarusian player finished the season with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.

A Year of Consistency

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka concluded the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and earned a record £11m in tournament winnings.

She earned almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
