Skydance Paramount Set to Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 American roles within a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are expected, as the firm planning to disclose complete information in its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Prior news stated the firm aimed to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

By December 2024, the company employed nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not provided a response to a request for comment.
