Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
